Chattanooga Modelcon member meet up.

Just got back from IPMS show in downtown Chattanooga where I met up with Heavens Eagle (Paul). We had a good conversation at the contest table. It was great hooking up with another MA member! He had four entries on display. I enjoyed getting to see some of his handy work close up. The pics don't do them justice.

Nice photo, glad y'all had a good time. Paul called me while at the show, I gave him a side quest to find a prewar British civilian vehicle for my MacRobertson line up. He came up nul on that one. He did tell me he won Gold and Silver with 4 of his 6 entries.
5 hour drive would have been a bit much for me today.
Glad y'all got out and met up. Looking forward to @Heavens Eagle Pauls report.

The show was in on LARGE room of which about 1/4 to 1/3rd was the build display. The rest was filled with a LOT of Vendors.

Then there was this guy wandering around with this shirt. Stopped him and asked if I could take a photo of him and his shirt. I guess he got a lot of attention with it.

This is for you Saúl

As to how I did, I took 6 kits and got 3 bronze, 2 silver, and one gold.

They actually judged and rated each build and awarded pins/coins to each as judged.

These 3 builds got the bronze

This one which I don't think I have ever posted on here got the gold.
This is a very old build that I did back in the 80's and it has survived all the moves and such quite well. I decided to bring it as the show theme was SciFi this time or I wouldn't have bothered. Had to repair the front canopy mount as it had broken off and been that way for many years. I have two figures for it that I should finish up. Terry built up a modified version of this a while back and won with it.

The seat belts were Waldron as there weren't any other PE sets at that time. Everything else was scratch built. The canopy was originally one piece which I cut apart and built the mounts.
