Can someone please explain the phenomena of how the same pair of tweezers that launched a small, one of a kind part to oblivion, can stick to a plastic part like a magnet when you need them to release? Inquiring minds want to know. :java
 
Same demon that places the canopy you dropped right under the path of the wheel on your chair... ;)

Watchmaker Chris, watchmker. The difference in tools and skills is like the difference between working on cars and semi trucks.

A while back I did a thread in the tools section on tweezers. You should find some answers here.
 
Its all the Styrene fault its an unstable element and can cause fluctuations in gravity When parts fall these flactuations can even pierce the space time continuem Sometimes this can make the part sound as if they have fallen somewhere totaly difrent But it has been recorded that Styrene infused wormholes have placed small canopy pieces and wheels on totaly innocent modelers benches half a world away.

How about the chances your super quick dry CA will glue the clamp to your PE but not the plastic...:bang head

What you are describing is THE NEED EFFECT It is based on an algorithmic ratio, wherein the rarity of the part times it's ability to completely muck-up your build, divided by the amount of pressure placed on the tweezers multiplied by "PI" or 3.14 = the likelihood that you will loose that part or have the tweezers stick to your thumb, whichever is more aggravating.

Launch irritates me, but the magnetization of tweezer to plastic parts just pisses me off. :vmad Get the part right where you want it, release and the part comes with the tweezer. :bang head

Guess it's the same principle as why a sharpened tool always lands edge first when dropped. :frantic
