BV 138 Flying Clog

I have got to say this is a masterpiece. All the way through, the way you tackled each hurdle. Outstanding work. I have tuned in once in a while to this but now that I have read from start to finish I am simply impressed with the level of talent shown.

Stunning work.

After studying what few pictures of the cockpit I could find I began to doubt the validity of the RLM 02 that I had applied earlier.
I have found that the picture of the museum piece actually reveals that it was actually RLM 66 :S
No wonder all the outside shots looked so dark. :facepalm

Anyhow, with that in mind I set forth to correct my error .

Much harder to do with the airplane around it :bang head

Finally the canopy :yipee . I fiddled with the vac formed for half a day to get all the dimensions trimmed to get the best fit possible ( lots of angles ).
After all that, I found that it did not fit better that the kit version :vmad The only plus is that it's a lot more clear, so I stuck the glue to it .

Hopefully I can straighten the last bit when this glue has set.

Thanks for looking in :good: Cheers, Christian B)

Hi Joe ! I had no idea that you were lurking my thread :idonno I appreciate your interest . It's probably not half as hard as I make it look . :(

When I started this project I had no plans to go this far with it but it's been fun. Thank you for your kind words :good:

Cheers, Christian B)

You know that canopy is a prime candidate for the painted and stripped decal paper for the frame work don't ya?

:popcorn

I have this kit (As I mentioned) This "Clog" does not look like the same kit, I think I'll throw my model  This is a tremendous upgrade Chris! :ro: :ro: :ro:

All the best!
Dusan.

Thanks to Dusan and Terry for following my build. (y)

The Montex mask once again proved useless on this Vac canopy ( what a shame  )

Masking the canopy was very tedious but at last It was completed last night and painted this morning,

I only need to finish the gun stand on the C mount and make a loop antenna and this thing will be ready for weathering :yipee

The lower crosses were replaced and hopefully the RATO packs are in Cal being reproduced . Hope they like each other. I'm ready to get this wrapped up :)

Thanks for looking . Cheers, Christian B)

Looks good! You have done well fixing up a so-so kit. Excellent work!

Can't wait to see the weathering.

Terry :notworthy

You gotta be proud of it as it stands now Chris, I know I would be. How are you going to display it? :popcorn

Thanks Dave, Luiz and SADave for the kind words . :good: This kit has been more fun than a barrel of monkey

Cheers, Christian B)

An awful lot of Daves here . It get's confusing :blink

Thanks T . I am also looking forward to the weathering but I'm also a bit apprehensive as it will be off the beaten path.

Cheers, Christian B)
