Since I have some left over paints, I might as well stay on the German theme. It's reviewed as a nice fitting kit. I plan to do the desert scheme. Also, I'm using Fast Frames again. The DB 601 engine is going to be displayed next to the model, not in it. A left over frame from the Ta-152H kit will be modified to fit.

Cool Gary! Maybe I should pull out the 1/32 Eduard E3 that I have 3/4 finished and get it done while you are working on this. (Nah need to finish the Stuka first)

This my engine collection and a 1/43rd scale GT 40 for size comparison, whose 427ci. engine seems pretty small. The DB601 is painted and high lighted. Notice the Mecedes emblem. Gary S.

Neat, I've see that photo before. Don't recall details other than it was a north Africa bird right?

Best that I have found, it from III/JG 27 3rd Staffel and stationed in Libia. I think the top color is Italian Sand and OD Green. Gary S.

Wow!! Those are some great shots. Italian paints were initially used, but III/JG 27 arrive a little later, so I think you are right about the colors. I also think it's one of the most effective and attractive camo's ever. Gary S.

Yesterday the brown 79 and blue 65 was painted along with the red and white spinner. Later I had to fix some boo boos. Salt was added over silver areas before painting. I figured that the desert sand and rocks would be hard on the paint. Gary S.

The slow progression of painting the green spots. I mixed tubes black and yellow ochre acrylic thinned with water to get the shade and consistency of green I wanted. Using the Tamiya pattern, which is only close to the real thing, came out in my opinion, pretty good. I'm gonna let it set for a few days, coat it with Pledge and hope the decals work. They were coated with a decal bonder spay last night. Gary S.
