April 27 outage

I know you notice the site in "Maintenance Mode" yesterday. Long story short our host (Hostgator) took us down because our CPU usage spike while someone, somewhere, was trying to gain access to parts of the website they have no business in. No unauthorized access was gained, the site is safe but their attempt did shut us down. Which is probably a good thing.

No I don't think we were targeted specifically. I think it was just some random attack that has been known to happen.

Sorry it took so long to get sorted out but we all should have had a really good session at the bench, right?! :drunk :drool

I went to get my daily dose of MA yesterday, and the website was down. I started to have withdrawals after awhile.
What happened?
MP--did you trip over the power plug and not plug it back in?

Nope, our server is out in one of those hosting groups, never seen it. I only jerk the power cable out of the servers at work. :geek


You're right, I was having a bit of withdraws also without our site up and running.

Its pathetic that there are people out there with nothing better to do than screw up a site for no reason. Sad state of affairs in the world now adays.

It's the same type of attack. Seems like it was almost the same time last week.

I've taken steps to stop it. We'll just have to see if it works.

Yeah I log in a couple of times a day at work to get the brain reset. Missed it today.

Thank God I found cheap audio books about a month ago. Listening to Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books. Now on #9 out of the first 20. The days seem to fly by and my production seems to have gone up too. Just wish I wouldn't get interrupted every time I turn around.
