Anybody going to the IPMS nationals in Omaha?

Susan and I are planning to attend the IPMS Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska in August. Ken Jones, who recently retired as editor of Military Modelling magazine and his wife Sandra will be visiting us during that period and we will bring them along!

Looking forward to meeting some of my MA friends in person!

Well Dad, I said I was going to VA but things turned sour and I couldn't do it. So I'm going to try some reverse psychology on this one and say right now there will be no way in hell I can make it to Omaha.

I think the dates are 08/03 to 08/06/11. Enjoy the trip. There is a SAC museum between Omaha and Lincoln and has a Vulcan that I worked on on display. They also have a model of the Vulcan that I built for them.

Yeah, of course, August, not July. I knew that!

That SAC museum is also the one that has Lewis Pruneau's 1/35th scale scratch B-52 with a wing span of 6' 4".

Will you and Maureen be there?

Still not going to be able to make it, may check flights. Of course it would be a total waste of time because I can't go..and rent a car once there.

All those flying Thingies, everywhere!! Omaha = SAC. What a shame! Everything you love in one place, but...... of course, there is no way you can come, rent a room, a car, anything!

I'll photograph as many airplanes as I can, but.... of course, it just won't be the same, will it?

Oh well, we'll try to have a good time without you, :Hiay such a shame, but..... of course, you....... just can't come!

Andy, years ago, I won my share of trophies at IPMS nationals although I was never a fan of their judging system. However, IMO, that annual show is probably some of the stiffest competition in the country! It's nearest competitor in terms of stickler judging would be the Chicago Show.

Yes it's tough. In 2006 I got a primere award(kinda like honorable mention) and was completly shocked. The competion is really stiff.
