Another Junk

I admire all the work and perseverance!

This is going to be a hypothetical paint job . Let's suppose this bird was painted RLM 02 during the Spanish war.

It actually was used during the Guerra Civil Española:

Here it is in overall RLM63. Click image to visit site.

I've often wondered why some folks don't offer PE cockpit frames.

Do you mean like this?

They are very difficult to use without marring up the clear areas. Part of Poland have had several for over a decade.

Regards,

Oh, good . That makes my story easier ( I though they might have been silver ).

Anyhow, they return to the fatherland where they get field painted with some dark green places.

Cheers, Christian B)

I bet they could pick up a radio station in Savannah with that thing. :rotf

Yeah like those PE canopy frames.

Looking good Chris! :popcorn

Great work so far (y) It would never survive one of my paint jobs with all those fiddly bits attached !

Thanks Bob , Luiz and Garry . :good:

The circus goes on :soldier

I don't know if the codes on these birds returning to Germany had markings deleted before or after arriving , so let's just say that they were overpainted as necessary.

Although you might think this as child's play, I found that painting over this surface to be quite tricky . All the spots were overpainted with the same AB. full of paint and look at how different they appear :S

From there, they were reassigned to various bases without being through depot for repaint .
These birds not being high priority assets, meant that the boys at field level take care of the problem .

So, this is what was available in the supply shed... :D

Thanks Guys , I appreciate your interest . I must agree, it does bear a strong resemblance to a flying tool shed .

Painting this thing has been challenging . The corrugated metal really plays tricks with the lights as you airbrush it out. Hard to tell if the paint is wet or if it's just another reflection.

So far, the decals heave been the best part of the kit.

There's a lot of conflicting info out there as to the color and width of the band . As far as that goes, the instructions are conflicting as well ( surprised ? ).

I finally opted with white since it seems more likely for an early paint job :idonno
