An unlikely escort

Thanks for looking
I've begun adding paint, I'm mixing the base colors with darker and lighter shades and in the case of the top OD I'm adding browns and dark greens to the base color. the national markings white is dirtied with Tamiya desert yellow and the blue surround washed out with white (sun bleached)

Thanks men! You're very kind!
I've begun shooting some paint on the fuselage tonight. I gave up on the double action airbrush and pulled out the Iwata Neo...much easier on the finger to just pull the trigger and have paint flying.

Bump to the next page. Still awesome!

Thanks for staying with me, I appreciate the company and encouragement!!
I've got more painting done. I've been able to begin using my double action again and begin adding shade and tonal variations to the paint, I've been adding red brown, flat brown, olive green and yellow to the base color of olive drab and trying to spray panels, panel lines, etc. with the different shades. It's such a big critter I've used a bottle of OD already. Also Seen in these pictures are the masks I've begun to cut using Tamiya tape and Frisket film I traced from the HK Models kit and Kitsworld's decals. I noticed the kit's decals stars arms weren't symmetrical. I put the straight edge on the decal sheet to find HK Models had kind of botched them. So I made my own with a compass, protractor and straight edge. I'm fussy about some things...others don't bother me odd...

There's chipping medium on the scars, hopefully allowing chipping scratching after paint work is complete
Thank you for looking

I'd get aggressive with the tonal changes. I was looking at some color photos from then and the range of color was fascinating. From OD to grey with oily foot prints on the wings.

You’re quite right, it needs more “mottle” or shading or whatever it’s called
Dirtying up in any case, I’ll get to that yup
