That is such magnificent work! I am amazed beyond words. Yet, you are still going to be making this even better!

B) Fantastic project which you are capturing perfectly.
Exciting to see someone tackling a damaged subject for once .....and its an airborne dio. :notworthy

Thanks for the help and encouragement.
I've painted on the national markings and plane letters then did a bit of weathering, more to come...

Thanks a lot all!!!
You're too kind!
I've got the markings masked and painted today, this would've been a lot easier with decals but how do you get decals to conform to holes in the fuselage?
Oh well...I've got them done and the chipping done (used a Q tip tooth picks and wooden cocktail stick to do the damage) Masks off now and building (such as it is) can continue.

Thanks for the kind words!
I've got a bit more work done tonight, just kind of trying to get the right look and feel on the fabric/ metal control surfaces.

looking pretty good there. I think the hardest part will be damaging the left horizontal stabilizer to match the real thing. I'm sure you're up to the challenge though. This is simply an awesome build and thread.

Cheers

Most B17s I see built no one ever tries to make the fabric look different. Looks great!!

Remember about the waste air gate vents, those 4 vents behind the nacelles. Those should not have soot coming out as it was clean air. soot/oil should be flowing around those vents.
