All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

EJ, I'm glad that you're getting that contact boost again. I also join my SoCal AMPS club on Zoom at least once a month and lately we've had some limited widely-spaced Hobby Days at the Hall that have also kept me going and allowed for extra progress.

Mike, that is some impressive work! I don't envy you all those track links. That kind of thing makes me so glad I'm only building 1/72 scale tanks!

Keep them coming guys!

Thanks for the king word. The Meng kit is fantastic.

The links are super tiny, and they have four sprue attach points that need to be cleaned up. But fortunately there are no seam lines of flash. The Miniart kit is really nice and of a very high quality in that respect, but its sure not a quick or easy build.

I've been debating weather or not to do a build log on them both. I'll have to think on that a little more.

EJ,

This is the 72nd Clearprops kit i am working on now.
Beautiful kit, lots of PE.

The Kitty Hawk kit is pretty recent and should be fairly available. The Matchbox/Revell & Fujimi kits are going to be hit or miss. Ebay would probably be the best place for those...or keep an eye open at shows for one.

Thanks. I've got one ordered. Wish they had one in 1/48.

EJ

Geeze, I ordered the Kitty Hawk Aircraft on Oct 15. 1/48 SH2F Seasprite USN Helicopter Kit × 1 from Internet Hobbies. They charged my credit card but I havn't got the kit yet. Contacted them 3 times but excuses excuses. Last was Dec 14 and they said it was "in shipping and will go out tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. " Still havn't seen it.

Working on a few projects...the Gog Magog...and while that is drying, I work on the newish Academy Semovente...

And then this came in to review...but I'll wait until at least the diorama and Semovente are done first....

John, those 1/72 tamiya kits are a real treat to build. Nice to pull one out after doing some short run kits.

Those mufflers look awesome.:vgood:

This one is coming off the bench finally. It is an IBG 1/700 Hunt II class destroyer escort.

I was a little surprised to see that there were a number of parts that were supplied as PE only like the life boat davits and the orlikon anti aircraft guns. The orlikons were very complicated to bend, not to mention tiny. Luckily there were extras as I ruined one. There are several versions of this ship in IBGs line up and I'm sure one of them will require all 6 orlikons provided. I would not want to build that one, too much pressure not to screw up. Lol! The bow and stern masts for the flags were also PE only and I replaced these with steel wire.

The build is of one of the ships in polish service

I will post proper pics at some point but here is a teaser

That is very nice. What kit is it?

So I don't generally play here and it's not really my bench but thought y'all get a kick out of it.

My Standing Rib Roast wouldn't stand on the ribs like I wanted so I chocked it.

Delish...this is why I can't eat prime rib in a restaurant. They always use the pre cooked stuff that comes in a cryovac bag (I know, I was in the restaurant business, I can always tell). We cooked our own from whole rib loins exactly how I cooked this one.
This one cooked a bit to fast, notice how done on the fat cap. I should have started it a lower temp.
