i could imagine some really creepy horror movies when i look at some of those pictures!

the soviet sub base alone is a gem!

those interested in chernobyl in particular should visit elena filatova's homepage:

http://www.elenafilatova.com

I have been to the abandoned City Hall station. It is not abandoned. That is incorrect. There are ALWAYS two trains there. One is a Mayoral transport and the other a decoy. In the event of an emergency, the Mayor of New York City may take the underground tunnel from City Hall (where the New York City Mayor works) into the subway. There are also stops near Gracie Mansion (the usual home for the Mayor - unless it is not up to the level attained by the current Mayor, billionaire Mike Bloomberg, who prefers his own home).

Regards,

Thanks for the link to Elena's site. I lost that link when I bought my new pc and couldn't remember her name. It is truly an interesting site full of tragic images. I would love to see the sub base in the Ukraine. I was stationed in Sinop on the Black Sea and remember a lot coming out of that base.

The Detroit ruins really remind me of the quarter century I spent in the St. Louis ruins as a cop from 1962 to 1986!

Thanks for sharing, Laura!
