A few days ago John (my son) told me that he wanted to start building the next model. His choice fell on "Zero" in 1/48 issued by Pegasus Hobbies within a well-known to him EZ Snapz series.

Re: A6M2 Type 21 - 1/48 PEGASUS (father & son)

This is just wonderful Hubert!

i hope I can have this experience with my daughter (or if I have a son someday) as well!

That's some great work for such a young modeler! I was never that good at that age! My father would have had to have helped me a lot more!

Re: A6M2 Type 21 - 1/48 PEGASUS (father & son)

Luckily and to the delight of toddler I was able to get a free week during the Xmas/New Year season so we had a cup of time to finish Zero. The model was painted (airbrush and Model Master acrylic) by John with mine small support (in the absence of proper paint, Johnny independently selected from available and specified as the "light gray" a bottle with color most pleased to him - unfortunately, after drying the color darkened a bit). Next Junior put decals - of course previously familiarizing with their arrangement ...

... then has prepared appropriate model fields using Mr.Softer fluid ...

... and put decals in adequate for them places (my support was limited to assistance and strips imposition).

After completing work with decals Johnny generously gave me a model to perform rest of finishing operations (varnish, wash, scratches and soiling). And so looks result of our common and very joyful modeling:
