Hole saws- NOT Augers....I know what they are and so do most.

Has anyone gotten lucky and found or made one, or a set- that would work in a Dremel or pin vise and cut a hole in styrene or plexiglass around 1/4- 3/8 or 1/2 inch ect?

I thought about making one with a copper cap and a 3/32 bit for a pilot but I cant figure how to sharpen the copper into saw blades that wont melt the plastic! Any luck in your secret box?

Have you tried a Forstner bit? They cut on the outside rim, so you can even overlap holes. This is a cheap set, but if you're cutting plastic, might be the ticket.

Sold as singles at Lowe's too :D

These definitely won't fit your Dremel, but work well in a drill or better yet, drill press.

Thanks Mike- but I'm looking for something that leaves a hole and a wafer-

James those are great- have you used one yet? I wonder how you pull the wafer out of those?

I never even thought about it till you asked. But a couple of those sets look interesting.

If your just looking for a disk thoufh, I use a hole punch like this

or waldron punches.

This is something I have been curious about but i should never have doubted the Chinese lol. I would much rather have a nice set of these than punches.

Oh wow, I didnt know Harbor Freight sold those Punch & Die sets. In the next couple of weeks, a new HF is opening in the town I live in, so I'll definitely be looking there for one of those P&D sets.

Browsing teh HF site, I came across these. It would probably work for styrene, and leave a hole and a disk
