There is an action quietly underway.
My grandson Russell had a small stash of model kits and a couple hundred dollars of tools, brushes and paints. In a fit of rage, his younger adopted brother destroyed every kit. Major model parts snapped in up to 4 pieces, paints dumped and replaced with dead insects, paint brushes snapped in 2, and then a final act of fluid defilement that only boy children are capable of.
I asked the boy how I had just heard about this a couple of weeks ago?
His humble response. "Grampa, I didn't know how to tell you."
Soon Russell will have his own room, with a solid door and a lock on it! His new kits, paints and supplies will be beyond the reach of his troubled little brother.
In any case, Russell "The Muscle" has a Grampa with a lots of model kits and lots of good friends that are modelers.
Men that know what generosity to a 15-year-old boy is. The word has gone out. Operation "Re-stocking Russell" is afoot!
I won't name names, as you all know who you are, but the first of the kits arrived today.

One such friend is an Air Canada 787 instructor pilot. He's in Seoul, South Korea shopping at the Joy Hobby shop for something cool from overseas.
I am NOT trying to put the bite on anyone. I am willing to buy models kits for this kid and I have been. Russell's favorite subject is (sob, sniff) CAR MODELS! Where, my friends, did I go wrong?!

Special thanks to everyone that donated to this sharp, polite, kid, without any reservations thus far.
As this fascinating story unfolds, I will post the progress here.
