One of my 5th graders asked for one of my model ships. I chose the Egyptian Felucca to assemble for her as a gift. My sweetie bought me some Plexiglas boxes for protecting and displaying dinky models so I chose one to use. The same AK clear acrylic water gel is applied over tan, for the waters of the Nile. It's curing sort of clear-ish, but one must not rush the chemicals!

Rigging techniques have improved some since I made the first Felucca, so I added a little and dusted the little Nile river sailboat model. "Tizaratti" is the boats name. I don't think she needs to know that this is Arabic for "fart".
It should be cute when it is finished.

But you know one day she will find out. :stinker:

How nice is this, Putting it in a case like this will protect it far longer than a 5th grader will be able to keep it safe.
I given my nephews a couple over the years only to have them disappear with no trace. I don't ask.

I found several photo options for the back panel of Brinlynn's Felucca box. Not so much a vignette, but just to place the boat in a traditional setting. The consensus is that the pyramids of Giza set the proper Egyptian theme. A wash of Tamiya clear blue over the clear water gel Nile base is coming up.

I haven't been awake long enough to do much model making this last week or so. I went and caught myself the Whittier Crud (Thanks Nolan). We're so busy at the transportation department, I just am trying to hang in there and keep the wheels going 'round and 'round.
Cheers.

The ol' Man's pick-up got to be a truck today. Hooked on to a trailer and brough home my Sweetie's new "Grass Hot-Rod". It seems my world is filling with school-bus colored articles. :bm:

She seems well pleased with the new "big block" 46" Cub Cadet, even though it is not equipped with a cigarette lighter.
"Oh Rhino, what awful stuff. This isn't even about modeling!"
Good sir, There is some doubt about whether I will actually get to use the new mowing machine. I did the prep and pre-flight.
The "modeling" part of this is, I have cleverly spent $2700.00 to get my summer Saturday afternoon modeling time back.
Shhh!!! She doesn't know yet!

I'm so jealous of your rich green grass! I got Bermuda emerging and I didn't even know I had bermuda. I've been working the centipede angle.

Today was the only day it didn't rain in the last 16. There are many reasons to enjoy rural living!
