Been drooling over this kit in the stash for quite some time and decided it was time to build it. Started her on Monday.

Went with the Tamiya detail set. It comes with some PE stuff and also some very nice guns.

Just need to put the decal instruments in place and a bit more detail painting and a wash.

Great little kit. Now you know for Quarterscale you fall under the rules of that build, only got a month on this. But the rate you're going shouldn't be a problem.

Yep I know Bob. Got nothing else to do while I wait for work to start back up lol. Can only clean the house so many times :rotf

Looking good. I have to ask though, what are those multi fold pe parts for, the top row ones? Looking at them I cant imagine.

Those are actually wheel chocks. There is also some braided wire to use as ropes for them.

I finished up the cockpit today. This has to be one of the best kits I've worked with. Tamiya has some clever ways of doing things. Comments and critiques are welcome. Helps me learn :D

First kit I've built that did the wing joint this way. Interesting idea. Parts aren't glue just dry fitted.

Sweet....I got another of those in the stash. Really great kit and you're doing a bang up job..in short..Attaboy. (y)

looking good! this kit always tempts me.... I may have to get one now. LOL

So far it is a great kit. I will say if you do get it watch out for the tolerances on the fit. Things fit so tight you have to really make that the sprue attachment points are really cleaned up. I grabbed thing one off ebay last year for about 20 bucks.

Just did a quick and dirty test for the cowl.I painted it in Testors Metalizer Aluminum plate first. Then I used Vallejo Model Air black. Let that dry and started scratching at it with a toothpick. Nothing has been done to the prop yet. What do you guys think? Look ok or not?
