1/35 WC51 Dodge

Hello,

Sometimes a project takes a ling time because of changing the ideas and with this project it was also a problem to think about how to finish it into a little story on a warm day in 1944 somewhere in Western Europe.

First I started the build of the WC51, a kit from AFV and the build went well, but then it stopped, was put away for a while this I picked it up again and started the painting and after a primer with Vallejo primer OD I put some lighter coats on the vehicle.

I left it dry for the night and the day I airbrushed some layer of clear over the car and left that also dry before I started with the decals. The decals where really a disaster, so I had to use some other decals from another kit.

I also finished the dashboard, the kit had no decals so I got some from Eduard and painted the rest.

Now it was time for some weathering, I started with some filters, yellow, blue and gray, after that some washes with a sepia color mix and this made the car looking better in my opinion ;)

The car was again put away and a week ago I decided to clean up some started kits and this was the first one because it was almost finished. I made a small base with sand and I made a road on it with stones from another project so I would look like a little street somewhere outside. The two figures are from a Verlinden set and all the other stuff is from the sparebox.
So this project is finished, finally ....

(y) glad to see you back! it's a great feeling to finnish off a build that's been "on hold" for a long time.
Great job on this one, really like the dusty finnish (y)

Thanks all for the nice comments, I'm happy to be back although my building progress stays slow, that's part of my live ;)

Thanks!

I got a WC-51 in 1/72 that I need to get out of the storage box to work on. That is a great little motivator. Great job Johanna.

A Really nice job Johanna,

The Wc 51 is a cool looking vehicle and you have done it justice!

The figures go very nicely with the Dodge too.
