1/16 scale Tiger 1 early.

Getting close to paint. Tow cables and a few other pieces left to build.

I haven't made a bullet hole in something in a long time, really nice work Tim. Glad to see they are showing some level of deflection. Most times you see them people do them straight in squired up shots.

Went ahead and added the spare tracks permanently to the turret because I already have a gazillion loose pieces to paint. I drilled out the filter's mounting blocks for the bolts that wouldn't be on after they were removed.
I'm not sure whether #02 had the stern launchers. The mid and forward ones can be seen in photos so unless they got knocked off I'm assuming they were there. Regardless they're on now.
I also chose not to add the watertight cover over the turrent ventilator.

Hey Tim, quick question, what was the brand of the figures you got for the Panzer III that were so bad? I am pondering some figures and some of them are a bit pricey. Don't want to make the same mistake.

They were no name knock offs from ebay. The SoL commander copy peddled by Benjia is in China. The soldier came from a distributor in the states.

OK, thanks Tim! I am looking at a number of figures from Andy's. 3 are kits like the ones I got, the other 3 are quite a bit more expensive and I think resin printed specifically for the 251 kit I am building.

Just an honest question, throwing this out there; Guys, why are you buying knockoffs? The original sculptor loses in that kind a deal and recasters often times sell crap, and you have no recourse.

Been there done that Tim. I bought a figure from China that when it came in was an awesome casting and everything I could have expected. Later on there was figure of the Gal Gaddot WW that I really liked and it was a horrible recast.
Then I went to Wonderfest up in Louisville and learned about recasts. The first figure I bought was possibly a recast, but was still exceptional and not a usual subject that gets recast so eventually I will build it.
Yeah, we live and learn. I have quite a number of original cast figure kits that are probably worth about double what I bought them for at this point. Only about 40 figures can be made from a rubber mold before it deteriorates enough that it won't make decent parts any more.
