Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

You and I have a very similar intent with the model. All of the parts I do are made with the intent of a realistic rendition of the ship. Your experience and resources far outweigh mine, so I'm looking forward to seeing what thing you implement that I can attempt. I think I'm one delivery...

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

I agree about that plate as a backdrop. That would look fantastic with the model. Thanks for updating your screw category sheet. I use my print out of that pretty often while building. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the gun turrets. That's a lot of extra motion to retro-fit...

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

I love seeing your approach to the interior. I've been looking at the hold and corridors the same way. I figured I would end up needing to scratch build new corridors to get a closer approximation of the movie sets. I'm using the kit hold though, so I may have issues when it comes time to put...

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

I saw that about the turret. The ventral circle rotates around when Fin is down there. You can see it pretty clearly when Rey flips the Falcon upside down to take out the last TIE. I interpret that as the hallway to get to the gunner platforms just get out of alignment, and it needs to face...

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

Where did you find those magazine binders? :thumbsup I can seriously use those for my build. It looks like I'm one shipment behind you, so your posts give me a fun preview of what's on the way.

    Sad News about Hippy Ed

That's such terrible news. My condolences to his family and the friends he left behind.

    Bandai AT-ST 1/48 build

It's humbling to get such a reaction from this crew. Thank you very much. I'm also very open to suggestions on improving this kit or future kits based on this one. I love the range of experience and creativity on here.

    Bandai AT-ST 1/48 build

Thanks guys! I'm using these small builds to get some skills up worthy of the Millennium Falcon. I find that I really enjoy the engineering aspects of these kinds of builds. While I don't plan to light all my builds, I think I'll likely add something like this to most of them. I'm thinking of...

    Bandai AT-ST 1/48 build

I've made some good progress on the kit. Here is the bottom plate connected up to the main board so the LED has power. Then it was on to painting up the outside of the model. I went with a plain gray base, and I used a darker gray on some details here and there. Wherever it appealed to me to...

    Bandai AT-ST 1/48 build

Thanks guys. I'm having a lot of fun with this. Now that the hard part is complete, I hope to get the rest finished up over the next week or so depending on time available. Then I have to figure out how to do a snow effect for the base. Anyone have a link to a good tutorial on such a thing?

    Bandai AT-ST 1/48 build

While parts continue to come inf for my Falcon, I have a stash of other kits to get my skills improved with. One of them is the 1/48 Baidai AT-St, which is very close to scale with the Falcon. I also have the 1/48 Snowspeeder, TIE and X-Wing for later. Last night I finished the painting of the...

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

Large Custom Millennium Falcon I'm excited to see what your mod of the main hull looks like. I got a copy of the book Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop It has a ton of terrific photos of details. Another resource is always handy. :captain

Large Custom Millennium Falcon (new pics )

Large Custom Millennium Falcon This same box is on its way to me. I'm excited to finally have the complete bottom frame, as I've just been collecting the parts thus far. I was looking at the flaps too. I was thinking of having them all move together, with the actuators up top just being...

I just bought my first airbrush compressor

I do have a duct for it to go out the window, I just don't have it in the pics. I'll have to look at the aspect of isolating the fan. I do use Vallejo acrylics, so flammability isn't an issue thus far.

I just bought my first airbrush compressor

Hey guys. Meesa back! :yipee I have not been idol, though not much until recently as far as actual progress. I recently completed building my spraybooth, and it works great. What I did was I got one of the cheap folding ones online, then took out the big PC cooling fan it has in the back...

Mobius BG Colonial Viper - Completed!!

Mobius BG Colonial Viper I love the way you're doing the wire management into the base. That's a very clean and attractive method. I've loved these ships since I was a kid when the show originally aired. You really nailed the look of the Viper.

    PIN UP !...AT FINALLY,COMPLETED !

The full diorama came together wonderfully. You really nailed the feel of the artwork. I think my favorite of the models is the one with the rifle. I think the face, costume and props came together the best of all of them. I really love the clean utility of the vehicles. In a real photo shoot...

TOOLTIME - Glue stand spill prevention.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I could see affixing the base to a small lazy susan type of thing to make it easy to rotate the glue you want to the front.
