Revell 1/144 HMCS Snowberry

Honestly Bob don't worry all i am likely to need is needles and tips and if i can get them anyway from Poland its not a problem, Poland is one of those rare countries that co-operates well with the uk and our Post office. The Friends we made during WWII are still our Friends today, Norway is another , Countries like France and germany are a pain to us. :rotf

So far i have spent more time disassembling than assembling. the beauty of PE and metal parts is you can just dump them in Acetone and it strips paint and super glue instantly and you are back to original parts.
My problem was that the wooden decking fits like a glove to the plastic deck, so far so good. the fence that goes round the deck is 8 parts that join to form 1 piece round the deck...however they fit like a glove around the wooden deck but they need to fit on top of the wooden deck .Some parts are folded and if you have a U section its hard to reduce its width. Answer is to just make new parts so i have trimmed half a mm of the outside edges of the wood all round to reveal half a mm of plastic deck and nopw i am remaking the fence in sheet alloy however i have just looked on line and Albion alloys do 8" x 4" sheets of brass at .25mm thick which would be perfect so0 a trip to the model shop is required.
I can see i will be making a lot of parts for this as folding half a dozen PE parts is always going to increase the risk of a creeping error.

As the shop keeper at The Red Caboose used to say, if you knock it down, you pay for it! Nice excuse which was also written on the receipt to show the War Department.

"Honey, the SOAR 35th scale Dora was on the shelf but my gut knocked it over! Rules are rules! How do you expect the shop keeper to sell it when the box is now (intentionally) dented?"

That's how the old hobby town was down in Augusta.

Did I ever tell you that I think some of my ancestors came from Dorking?
