Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

[paddy]

They are amazingly strong, you need pliers and some effort to snap them, think piano wire strong

[moon puppy]

Ordered Friday. Here on Monday. Nice job Spraygunner!

[paddy]

You just reminded me , i bought an H&S some time ago. Never used it, wonder where i put it. TBH my Badger does everything need till i run out of spares.

[moon puppy]

I sprayed some with it just now. I like it. Parts look identical to the Gaahleri Mobius but it sure doesn't act like it.

[Rhino]

It's like other people's hairdos. I have NO room to criticize.
I'm on my 4th Testors Aztek, with one more left. I do have a Tamiya Sprayworks airbrush I rarely use.

[Heavens Eagle]

I used one of my basic H&S brushes yesterday with the .6 tip and needle and sprayed the red primer on the carriage of my howitzer. To clean the Vallejo primer out, I use lacquer thinner which works great. I only thin the Vallejo with Vallejo airbrush thinner and a bit of Vallejo flow improver.

To get the H&S Airbrushes cleaned at the end of a session, I spray it out, add lacquer thinner (which dissolves Vallejo fairly well), spray it out, then take the tip off, and pull the needle out the front. Take the cup off, and use Q-Tips and the Gum between the teeth brushes as in this photo.

[Sharkmouth]

I received this on the last Monday of September but only recently opened it up and it is, like all Cold War Studios, excellent in value and a comprehensive correction and detail set!

[Brokeneagle]

1/16TH (for my Pz 3 L wreck in Russia)

1/35 accessories for a Willys

1/35 3d Print model. - a good cheap wreck.

A couple of PE tools i think i might need arrived from Amazon.

Its a shame amazon tend to beat most model shops on price however i think some of their items are supplied by model shops just via amazon...
As someone who used to run my business in competition with amazon i have huge sympathy with private retailers. The real problem or should i say decider in most cases is the postal service is so bad now that Amazon win because you just know you will get the item the next day if not the same day
The PE I ordered for my ship managed to do 5600 miles to the UK in 2 days and now its been sitting in customs just 20 miles away for 2 days and yet because of the value its not even liable for customs duty.

@paddy Here are a couple of items you might look out for. I have found them quite handy for all kinds of things, but especially for working with odd PE parts.

Also to keep from launching small parts, check out my thread on reworking and cleaning up your tweezers. To keep from launching "really" small parts, use a small ball of silly putty or soft tack and place it on the edge of the part. When the part cuts free, it will be held by the putty and won't fly off.

TOOL TIME - Tweezers (Types, Care, and restoring the tips)

I am reworking this thread to get the Pooterbucket links gone and make it easier to deal with. I am also moving the photos up to this first post rather than halfway down the page. The links to outside sources for tweezers have been removed. If you would like me to find you some decent looking...
