Sherman in 1/16 scale.

Doing the Andy's HHQ Sherman to counter my Tiger build. It's only right...right?
Anyway, I'm completely ignorant about the why's or when's of any of the variants. This kit says it has the late WWII option. That's what I'll be doing. The kit's in the mail. Andy's Hobby Headquarters has been a fast shipper for me from Arizona, so shouldn't take to long.

The late option is mostly suspension system. The EZ8 has the Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS) (yes i did google that but I knew what I was googlin' for). They say it road like a Cadillac. I think the only difference between WWII and Korea was secondary armament placement.

Started a little bit of research. Noticed in these two photos 2 machine guns are mounted on the turret. Of these particular tanks anyway.

First day on the build. Typical vague Takom instructions, but after 4 of their kits I'm getting used their ways. The moldings are nicely detailed. However you don't just glue up parts on these big kits without dry fitting first as they usually need tweaking.
Careful and slow is the name of the game at this stage to avoid nasty surprises down the road.

Cool Tim!
Working on my big gun doing some detail rework per photos I found. Found a photo with sand and green/brown coloring. Looks like it might be a repainted grey underneath. Looking to finish it soon and then get back on to the halftrack. This 15cm gun is huge.

I almost went for the 250. Decided on the Sherman to balance out German armor on my display shelf.
