Mother Nature revisited winter today and left us with about 15 cm of snow. Its still snowing lightly so totals could go up. During the periods of heavy snow drivers reported highway visibilty to the front edge of their car hood and travelling at blistering speeds of up to 60 km/h.

It was in the plus numbers before the snow came. Will be fun taking my wife to her appointment since she is on crutches. Yuck!!

Here we go again. Monday and Tuesday we had temperatures between 15 and 20 C, roads were clear and we could see own lawns again. (Maybe that was summer.🤷‍♂️) Overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday it began to rain, not torrential rain, but it continued thru Wednesday. With the ground still frozen several new lakes and rivers were formed. (Several new water hazards on the golf course.) Wednesday night the rain stopped, but only because it had changed to snow accompanied by high winds and continued thru Thursday. It didn't begin accumulating on the roads until late Thursday night. With the roads being wet any traffic packed the snow down to ice. Travel was not recommended for much of Friday with areas being closed due to accidents from the combination of icy sections, high winds and low visibility.

As I type this, we've had about 11 cm, its still snowing and it will continue to snow into Saturday night and a forecast total of 20 cm.

Cheers,
RichB

Meanwhile in the South East, we haven't seen any sort of wet stuff outside a garden hose in some time. Whatever it is growing in the yard is crunchy.
Stay warm Y'all!

Yeah very yucky out. Wednesday had to go to St Paul and hydroplaned twice on the hiway. Not a nice wake up call. Then got to where the ditches had overflowed over the hiway. A truck was stopped with flashing lights so slowed down and went around him through about 4 or 5 inches of water. Would hate to think what would happen if a car hit that at hiway speed or even a semi. Supposed to go to Lloydminster today but cancelled. Yuck!

We have been having a little rain here in Memphis. It's kind of getting the grass to grow, but all it is really doing is making the weeds grow.
