IL-2 shturmovik

That's what I would have said . Functional . Speaking of that, I don't see much for the back seater either.

Looking good . Cheers, Christian B)

Thanks guys! Functional is a good word. :rotf

Christian, the back seat consists of a strap or hamock type sling that I have not put in yet. :eek:hmy:

Probably better then the old box tossed in there after they took a cutting torch to the fuselage behind the fuel tank........apperantly the survival rate of the rear gunner, mostly women in the early ones from what I understand, wasn't all that good.....
:drinks

Jeeze Dave, shook the box and look what fell out, where's the challenge in that :tomato

Lookin good dude :D

The dude (or gal in this case) would definitely be flying anytime they hit any turbulence. No way to "strap" in I would imagine.

I have not forgotten about this. I was waylaid by the wife's honey do list which included replacing the carpet in the downstairs family room. Imagine my surprise when I lifted up the old carpet and found this underneath...

Psychedelic man!!!

Hippy Ed might appreciate it more than some... :tomato

Okay, back on topic. Got the fuse all closed up and wings on. You have to install the landing gear legs before you put the cap on which I have not done yet. Wheels and tail wheel are not glued in yet. Just wanted to see the stance. I have a few more bits to add and then the canopy needs to be masked and installed. The rear canopy piece does not close all the way so will have to figure out how to mask that. Might leave that piece off till last. Canopy has been freshly futured and sitting under the cup beside it.

A little bit of PSR needed but hope to primer and start painting this weekend.

Good looking kit (y) I think that most positions other than pilots did not get much creature comfort.

That's pretty true of most WW II aircraft.

In this case it appears that flying with the glass closed might have been a good idea :pilot :pilot

It's a lava field on acid :blink Where did you find that ? Looks like it's straight out of the 60 ? :frantic
