Looks like pressed wood to me. Does this come with planking to cover all that? It should. Just don't get water on that; it'll swell up and flake apart. Git 'r done Gerry!



Kenny, Ian sleeps with his glasses on? Man, whenever I've done that I've woken up with a misshapen mess that takes needlenose pliers to straighten out! Good to see him helping you out at the show. I do hope to get to one of those someday. Too bad you can't make it to an IPMS Nationals someday; it would be a thrill to meet you and Ian in person. I think you both wold enjoy the experience as well.

Paul W ...... That is a very nice Hawker Kit .... When my skills improve .... I want to build one .... I'm sure there is a kitchen sink included in this one ..... :yipee

Warren ... I've been looking at the destructions the hull needs filling with something to smooth it .... BUt if it could be planked that wood look so much better ..... :captain

It would be!! Could it be done with Balsa?

There is a lot of balsa in the kit .... I would be driven more to Basswood .... I'm a cabinet builder (or usta be) in real life or trim carpenter .... Ya'll don't push too hard as I have lots of projects to finish 1st .... then there is the additional ship building tools ..... :drinks

Ah, yes, I've heard of Basswood. i need to pick some up sometime to see if I can work some floats out of it!

Take your time, it'll look great when finished though!
