Yellowing decals.

Master at Arms
I was sorting through old inventory of Bison Decals and noticed yellowing on some.

The sets printed by Bergemot are yellowed, the sets printed by MicroScale and Color Slide are normal.

Are the yellowed compromised and should I just toss them?

I was planning on throwing all the sets up on eBay cheap and would certainly disclose the yellowing but don't want to sell something that won't work.

They were all stored in the dark, in a climate controlled area next to each other, it's just three sets out of the bunch, but all that were printed by the one place. At first I thought it was intentional, but after finding the printer info, it's more than a coincidence.

I've read that if you expose them to direct sunlight that it removes the yellowing. Worth a shot I'd say.

Yellowed decals can usually be recovered by placing them in a clear zip lock bag and exposing them to UV light (ie, sunlight). I've read it can take anywhere from an hour to a week to get rid of the yellow. They can be brittle after that so they can benefit from a protective clear coat while on the backing paper (MicroSCale Liquid Decal Film, Future, Krylon Crystal Clear).

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks guys.

I do seem to remember hearing that too. While I'd be willing to try it myself, I don't feel comfortable selling them to someone else.

If anyone here wants 'em , I'd pass it on for postage alone. If it can go in an envelope for a stamp, I'll cover that myself.
