Wingnut Wings Sopwith Triplane

I wish WnW had made the landing sticks a bit more robust, like the upper center struts. It's a bit wobbly. Might use the fishing wire for bracing instead of the elastic.

It looks square enough to me, probably wouldn't pass Pauls calipers but i'm a Mark 1 Eyeballer type.

Set it in place like you have it, then measure the distance from the lower wing tip to the table top. They should be the same, if not then adjust.

Of course I would probably use my crazy jig to get it all prepped before gluing. When it is lined up add glue and walk away till later.

The WnW Bristol fighter was way to heavy for its undercarriage but i laced it up with fishing line and when i tensioned it with a hit of localised heat it doubled its rigidity.
That doesn't surprise me. They made their kits to be accurate and sometimes the kit weight is quite a bit more than the original plane would have been proportionally.

Paul you'd be glad to know that I did measure the lower wing tips and they are close enough for me. may not have been exact but it's in my tolerance range.
Fishing line will be rigged today sometime.

Bad luck Bob, we have all done it :) but when it works its great, i use a soldering iron but you need a steady hand, there is no second chances if it touches a wire .....

I use 0.18mm mainly so i can get 2 threads through the 0.4mm brass tube when making the buckles. you can actually buy this fishing liner in black like this.
