Who made this kit?

Sherman 18

Master at Arms
I have this for a number of years. I bought it off Ebay as I was getting some kits dirt cheap and thought I would like to try building 1/72 aircraft. Well this is the biggest 1/72 kit I have ever seen. I do not know the manufacture of the kit. Does anyone else? Not a bad kit, in the box.

if anyone knows - thanks

There is this kit in 1:48 scale with the same box art;

So maybe this is also Hobby Craft?

Greetings,Ron.

I have a Hobbycraft Corsair and that sure looks the same to me. Here is an inbox review for the Academy version. http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/aca/kit_aca_2204.shtml

I am almost certain that is the domestic market Academy kit. They injected the plastic for Hobbycraft (HC) and took over the production molds later on.

Is it possible to see full sprue shots to compare to my unbuilt HC kit?

Regards,

It does say Hobby craft on the decal sheet :)

Yes, this is a domestic run by Academy (not intended for export) using Hobbycraft's molds and (apparently) leftover decals!

The disinformation of making the Westerners giants can be seen on the box top with the 72nd scale when we all now know it is 1/48th scale.

Regards,
