Do a single line for the dark blue with a formed mask instead of the super fine line and thicker line. There are a couple of ways you could mask it and spray a soft edge dark blue along the mask, then once that is dry, add a second mask along the line and do the silver. Or do a first mask, paint the silver and then once the silver is dry mask over the edge of the silver to give a fine gap that you can see the width and spray the dark blue line. It will be a challenge either way.

Some straight lines would be good -), my problem is getting the design to look symmetrical as the tank isnt,...... the filler is offset and the tank has indentations which mean you get a good curve from one angle and it looks awful from another. there isn't one straight line on theis tank for reference to how it even sits on the frame .
I also have to bear in mind this has a seat unit that need to match any design and a huge Dustbin Fairing like this
I have free reign really with design as apart from the basic silver and blue there is nothing simular between bikes ie: the one above is silver with blue design, many are blue with a silver design.

If you have the tape on one side fairly satisfactory, what stops you from using it as a template by rubbing a paper (or low tack tape) over it then flipping it over for a mirror image? trying to do both sides freehand is...

~Its getting a good design on one side that is beating me i cant do what the reference bike has as that has a central filler and it looks odd with a shape going through the filler and the tank decal badges are large so they need to be on an all silver or all blue back ground. I would still feel happier doing straight lines but its not going to look right on a curved tank. I will put it to one side for a while, i think i might be over thinking this
it will have to be free hand i think as the tank is not molded very symmetrically and what looks right one side might look odd the other, i will just work on the principal that you can never see both sides at once

I seem to have taken up residence in the help pages........actually i feel at home here
So this is my first attempt and if things keep going well it could be my only attempt
I got quite an edge with the masking tape but it sanded off
The pin stripe is just some cut up decals, its about 0,75mm but looks thicker. In real life that would be X9 so 6.3mm which may be a little thick but i wasnt sure a decal any narrower would behave or even stick. I think it will probably do but importantly i have learned a lot, i hope the clear coat goes on ok now and i can polish it up but patience with drying is the key so i will get on with other things

Really enjoying this build which is good because i haven't been on recent builds. Something to get my teeth into on this one.

Glad you are enjoying this build Paddy. The tank is looking really good! You are doing the wise thing to set it aside for now and let it fully dry out. The way I build, that tends to happen naturally as I reach a point then it is time for bed and I don't come back to it for a day or four.
