U-boat Type VII D

Hey y'all, CG trader had a flash sale today and I just scored this model file! Gail said "Happy Birthday" to me LOL. This sucker, if printed in full scale 1/48 is 63" long. It is likely I will print it at a smaller scale because that won't fit on my build table what-so-ever. Plus I am pretty sure it would be over $100 in resin to do it. For some reason, I am excited about building it. I have never built nor desired to build anything from Nazi Germany. A modern German Tornado is the only German item I have built. But I saw this and my eyes lit up. The weathering on this will be fun I think and will push my skills past where I am now. Lots of rust and whatnot. I may need help with reference and techniques for something that spends its life underwater rather than on top. The images show two sailors on the bridge, but I think I want to show it firing a torpedo, so the figures won't be necessary. (PS, I also bought Tauriel, an elf from The Hobbit also).

If you need any accurate info, i can help. All depends on whether you want an accurate sub or just ignore the mistakes and just have some fun.
You probably don't really care about the details but there are some bizarre ones on the image that are just fantasy for a type 7D/C. I am not trying to be negative, just thought I should let you know what is incorrect.
The hull rivets are way to large and there are about 4x as many as there should be. The deck gun platform and gun are just imaginary and completely wrong, as are the torpedo tube doors and net cutter shape on the lower front hull.
Anyway, the build should be fun and very large, so good luck :vgood:

Weird! The guy said he used the original blueprint to build the model so I just assumed it was right knowing nothing about subs. It just looked so cool to me. It is a file I can alter to some degree. It comes with or without rivets. Without spending much time, if you can show me what is innaccurate I will see if I can fix it. Thank you Ian!
