I'll have pictures of my progress when my camera charges. With luck my new camera with Macro lens will get here shortly and I'll be able to take better pictures *I hope).

This arrived yesterday and so I started today as my DH 2 is stalled somewhat.

Nice Kit James ... :popcorn ... did the detail on the turret (depressions) come like that or did you do a little magic ??? (y)

I have done nothing special to the kit. Sauls photo review has better pics. The only thing marring this kit so far for me are some really iffy instructions which have caused me to look way forward and see if I can see how he part should fit, missing mounting holes *shown in instructions but not provided) and some mis numbering of parts.

Trumpeter missed Holes ??? & miss labeled parts ??? :rotf When Your instruction consist of pictures with circles and arrows ... easy to get miss-construed especially the guy making the circles & arrows ... looks good I'm sure you can muddle through it ... :popcorn

Usually Trumpeter aren't too bad. Some mis numbered parts, but I think almost all kits have that now adays so nothing special. The missing cues and mount holes though are annoying as I am doing this without refs, just using any pointers Saul has shown. So some parts are not exactly where they should be.
Now don't take what I have said as wholesale disappointment with the kit. It is very simple and goes together very well. The hull to upper surface fit is the best I have seen yet. Kind of cool also is the snap fit of turret to hull.
Hope to get more done on Sunday as Saturday my Daughter is visiting us :)

Plugging away and becoming less impressed with this kit. Flash, big sprue gates, tiny pieces where not required and poor instructions. Oh well will keep :soldier

It is not a bad kit as it was designed for their home market (China). This is not the version which was exported. This is the Type 62-1 with the laser range finder box on the turret.

This is just to show that the bottom is correctly detailed.

Plus an excellent walk-around of the ZTQ-62-1 on Facebook. The owner has given me permission to use his photos during my build. However, I am traveling a bit lately so no progress.
