Trumpeter BR52 1/35 fahrt ... 16-4-13

Hello,

After a long period back on the road with a new project. I had the Trumpeter BR52 in stock for some years and bought some update sets from Voyager, Eduard, RB Models and LZ models. When everything I wanted to use was arrived I bought also a book from WWP BR52 train in detail and this book is a good reference for building this kit

I found out that there were a lot of differences between every BR 52 train, so I decided to follow my own road and build a train the way I like it.

The build starts with the frame and for the frame I will use the replacements from Voyager. Not al because I found out that the steam boiler won't fit.

As I said, the steam boiler doesn't fit well on the props so I had to made some changes, here the test pictures.

When I was busy with making washers with my punch tool, I had a problem, the tool is broken and I have to wait for a replacement.

After finishing the steam cylinders I put more parts to the frame and started with some plumping.

Looks great - nice details. I am building one as well (since it first came out so building is used loosely - more like waiting) your progress looks very interesting, what are you using for reference?

Very nice! I've been wanting to build some of these 1/35 railroad trains & cars, so its really nice to see people posting builds on them.

Wouaw Johanna! you are doing a great job with all that PE and plumbing!!
Wish i could find more references on my WR 360 so i could make some more things like this, but it is a little harder to find, most of the info and pics are from after the war and then they made a lot of modifications on the locomotives.
Looking forward to see more of this :)
You go to SMC in October?

Thanks all for the nice words!

It gives more work to make details then just building out of the box and it's a kit that screams for some extra's and I had the kit for 2 years at home and in the meantime I bought the extra's and learned a bit more about scratching, but still not on the same level with some other talented modellers on this forum. If I had the talent I would like to make a Kondenztender to replace the tender that's in the box with the train, but that will stay a dream ... :( ;)

Mats, do you know the books from WWP? They have a special train serie and also a walkaround of the WR360. I like the books, they have a lot of interesting pictures and also Prime Portal has some train walk arounds.

I have plans to come to Veldhoven in October and till then enough time to do some on the train and will also follow your work and maybe the rest will join us in building some railroad stuff.

So, Hans Landa is ready, time to do some more on the train. I have done more detailing and the front of the train is almost finished. I will now started with the back of the frame.

Some progress.

It looks a bit messy because of the paint, but it will be better when the building is finished.
