Especially to those in Japan I hope everyone is safe after that 8.9 quake and Tsunami. Also anyone living on the path of the Tsunami. Hawaii British Columbia, any island. Thoughts and prayers for all affected.

The footage I've seen is scary stuff! Thoughts and prayers to all affected.

shows how insignificant we are in the scheme of things. Amazing footage coming out.

Thoughts and prayers for all the victims.

I am hoping that Manabu, of MS Models is OK. He is in between the epicenter and Tokyo.

Regards,

Whats even worse is now 2 nuclear reactors are unable to cool the rods. Not good at all.

i had a bad feeling about fukushima 1 and the power plant blew up! parts of the building collapsed, white smoke over the plant and radioactivity 20 times higher than normal!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pg4uogOEUrU&feature=player_embedded

the actual explosion can be seen at 0:47!

let's just hope that we won't face a meltdown! (i'm not very optimistic!)

i have a bad, bad chernobyl flashback - facing the chernobyl explosion and the immediate results was unpleasant enough ...

if fukushima 2 blows up too, chernobyl will look like a childs birthday!

:(

the only hope and positive thought remaining for me is that fellow members yasuyuki watanabe and yokota kazutaka and their families are safe!

Prevailing winds are west to east, I believe, most of that fallout will float out to sea. Not AS bad as Chernobyl where towns were wiped off the maps but still, dire situation.

BBC has better footage, you can actually see a shockwave from the explosion.

Edano said due to the falling level of cooling water, hydrogen was generated and that leaked to the space between the building and the container and the explosion happened when the hydrogen mixed with oxygen there.
