Tis very sad I am today

At 0520 hrs local time my little buddy of 16.75 years (an English Bulldog cross) passed away beside me. I'm waiting now for my niece to come at 0800 hrs to take me and his body to the vet when they open. A sad day but as least the little guy isn't suffering. I'm very sad right now.

I was very hesitant to post this here but thought that perhaps you'd like to know.

Peter

Hey Peter

I am very sorry for your loss. I have lost my cat last November, very unexpectedly. These Little guys are a big part of the Family. I am sure your dog had a happy life on your side.

Hope you feel better.

Cheers

Alex

So sorry to hear of your loss Peter . It's never easy.

I still miss my hiking partner and she has been gone a dozen years now :(

Very sorry Peter. Losing a member of the family is difficult but is especially difficult this time of the year. Reflect on the good times you've had together. Wishing you :zen :zen during this time.

Sorry to hear this Peter, it is never easy!

Lost my cat back in September. I still look for him in the mornings.

They become such a huge part of our lives. I'm sure he appreciated you being there in the end.

Thanks people.

Just got back from the vet and breakfast after.

My little guy wasn't well and i was going to have him put down but hesitated to do it as he was fighting so hard. We'd decided to do that today. I was petting him at 0500 hours today and at 0520 he just went to sleep very peacefully here at home on our bed. I'm glad that he's no longer suffering and it was really nice to be with him when he passed. I have a few images of him but thousands of great memories of him.

Thanks again.

Cheers from Peter

Peter,

16+ years? He was definitely loved and didn't want to leave you. That speaks volumes of you and your family. I am sure there is pain but there are also loving memories.

Regards,

Just try to think of the good times with him.

Sixteen is a great stretch, you both were lucky.

Again, my thanks people.

Sixteen is an exceptionaly long time for an English Bull dog (or EB mixed breed) to live. Yes, I was very lucky to have had him for that long. For those 16 years it was just him and me. He slept with me every night and would often sleep with his chin resting on my arm. The vet offered to have his ashes returned in an urn to me but I said no that I'll have all the memories.

Anyone here ever think to spell dog backwards? Reverse d_o_g and you have g_o_d. It's like He wanted to be with us so He sent us a faitful companion in His stead.

Thanks again and cheers from Peter

So sorry to here about your little friend passing away, especially around this time of the year. These little animals are an extension of the family and it hurts to see one missing.
I still from time to time get choked up over my little daschund Oscar, and he's been gone for around 4 or 5 years. He looked like the dog in my profile pic!
Time will heal your pain and the hole in your heart will close up by memories and maybe down the road you can get another furry friend!
(Like a wiener dog!!!!)--Sorry, couldn't resist!

Tim
