I got off to a good start this year finishing three in the first three months but then fizzled out, anyway three is better than some of the past years and now that I have retired I will have more bench time available, we'll see what happens. So my three for the year were...

Zvezda 1/72 Petlyakov Pe-8

Special Hobby 1/32 He 100

100-b01.jpg

Classic Airframes 1/48 B-57B

Looking forward to your end of year production show Duke.

Tim, good looking builds on both. Looking forward to seeing what else you've been plunking away on.

Gary, love the Pe-8. Need to dig mine out of the stash some day.

That being said, I am still way, way below my usual output for a year; mostly because of Dora.

Yeah,...Dora that stupid b*tch! :rotf
However I really enjoyed "her"! (y)

Greetings,Ron.

Not really a stupid b*tch; more like a real frightening, yet fun b*tch. She was the first model that scared me the whole time I was building her. I am enjoying having her done and taking her to local contests. Thanks Ron! Stay tuned; i hope to have more done soon.

Old Dog, I'd say you did great for the year. I especially love the Pe-8, maybe someday I'll get one too. Rock on guys!

Amazing pieces of work everybody, top class stuff :notworthy (y)

Glad I didn't give in to temptation 1 year ago when I saw a Dora 1/35th in a model shop. I settled for a Loki and a munition loader still in 1/35th

Forgot to add these 'Good ol' boys'.... also finished this year:

Derricke Cope's 1990 Lumina

Ricky Rudd's 1987/88 Buick

Dale Jarret's 1993 V6 Lumina

And my personal fave of the bunch, 'Handsome' Harry's 1987/88 Monte Carlo 'Aeroback'

All four finished within a few weeks of each other at the beginning of the year.

Ian

Wow, there certainly were some great looking kits built this year! Nice job everybody! (y)

I like these threads because they allow you to see all the great builds I miss!

I started a few this year but really only completed two early in the year.

My IMAM Ro.44 (1/48)

and my Cat (1/48)

Always enjoy this post, great builds all round !! :drinks

Beautiful looking models guys! Excellent!

I did manage to finish two more, so I'll have a pretty good lineup for later.

Oh hell...who am I kidding, I'm not finishing anything in the next day so here we go.

Thunderjet 1:48 Revelle kit I think

Thunder20~0.jpg

The Lion Roar Halftrack.

Think the paint job ended up sucking but I can say that. I actually started this way back in Sept 2008.

M2A1231.jpg

Thanks to the Shelf Queen build, I got motivated to finish it out.

Eduard 1:48 Hellcat
Hellcat37.jpg

Just wish I would have remembered to paint the inside of the cowl, if I had, I would have taken it to the show this year but..

Tamiya 1:48 Corsair
F4U48.jpg

I don't know if I claimed the Corsair in last years builds, think I finished it durning the holidays but didn't' finish the base till Mar 13. Really nice kit to build!

Tamiya 1:35 PanzerII
DSCF9020.JPG

Meager offerings to the Styrene Gods but I know I'll have two completions in Jan so good jump start on next year. If I hadn't farted around with the NMF stuff so much I probably would have gotten some more in.

I look at this and think how close I was...

OH! the one I'm most proud of finishing.

The Korean Sherman

Thanks guys, the Halftrack paint job is just a mess, started 5 years ago and tried several different techniques on it, just turned into a jumbled mess, then I tried to cover it all up with a whitewash that just compounded it. But it was a fun ride, I clearly got my money's worth from that thing!

Aw hell...Bob and I are on the same wavelength methinks...might do some more on the Havoc and Churchill tomorrow, but will be nowhere near done with either...so here I go:

It's hard to believe 2013 is almost gone and I only completed one build. :eek:hmy: A string of eye surgeries has limited my bench time and made me appreciate my hobby that much more. Here's my completed build, the Panther for our Call To Arms campaign to fight cancer.

Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2014! :drinks
