Tamiya Horch 4x4 type 1a

This is the old Tamiya in 1/35th scale. A real oldie from the stash. I thought I would wrap this up as an exercise to practice my german grey paint and finishing. I painted it out in a lightened german grey (XF-63) and then gave it a wash with the Raw umber oil paint diluted with the rectified turpentine. (As demonstrated in the OD weathering tutorial by Bob Letterman). It then got a dry brush with some Humbrol enamel (either the #1, or the #126). Some touch ups with the oil pin-wash, and some dried mud pigment.

Thanks for looking. Now on to the 35t.

Cheers,

Bill

Great job on this "Oldie" I did mine in a beat up dark yellow colour.
I like these old tamiya kits, maybe not the most accurate but they go together without any big issues.

Thanks, Mats, Bob, Dusan, and Ron!

We learn something new on every model we make, and this was no exception. It gets me motivated to move on to the next project, and have a go at it. (Or finish up something else first. )

Carry on,

Bill

Tamiya ....if you start a Dragon kit ... you can finish it ... or not ... but you´ll always finish a Tamiya kit! Nice weathering and painting work!. Try to make pictures against a white or pale grey background next time. Your kits will look even much better!!

Good work!

Thanks piase. Much appreciated.
Thank you Sr. Lopez. I know what you mean about finishing a model. This one has been sitting around a long time. Good to have it done. I will try the photo technique you have recommended. I need all the help I can get. Looking forward to your next piece of artwork.

Cheers,

Bill
