Thanks for thinking of me Rudi but you're right, I've seen these before. On one of the restoration forums an owner of a hafltrack posted these.

...and judging by the lack of frame length behind that rear idle sprocket I'd say it's an M2 not an M3 the poster questions himself about.
 
:woohoo: Looks like I may have found a future project, or two. I would have to get the old Tamiya kit for the halftrack, it would be a shame to only use half the parts from a Dragon kit.

I have a few old Tamiya kits in the stash, when we hook up for a club meeting, I'll bring one you can have if you promise to show me how you do your handy work with it. ;)

I actually have quite a few time period pictures of disabled/destroyed half tracks you may like as well as a handful of modern pictures of one track found in the woods if you prefer a modern derelict.
