OK I know this figure isn't "Smilin' Jack" but his stance reminds me of him.

This is the standing figure from Tamiya's P51 Mustang kit. 1:32 scale. Going to give this a shot.

Base coat of some Humbrel color, not sure which. Seen too many of you all use it for a base so I fgire what the hey..hope it works ok with oils.
 
Good start MP. You might want to paint the flesh parts with an acrylic based flesh color. (y) (y) (y)

OK, need one of your artist types to throw me a bone.

This guy has his leather jacket and khaki britches. If memory serves those britches would be Khaki Shade 1 for summer. I'm using a basic set of oils, what would I mix to get this shade?
 
Oils ?

Id give him a khaki shot with an acrylic first Bob to get your base colour down and then go from there
