Well don't get to excited just yet!
As I said in my quick post in 'whats on the bench today', I love Uboats and have tried to stop this breaking through while I have plenty 'going on' anyway with shelf Queens all over the place but I can't help myself . I have been eyeing off my Mk9 C for a while and.....................................
........I was right about that wasn't I.
Still love the Uboats but have changed my direction on this post.
After a lot of thought, research and some crazy submarine purchasing, I am seriously considering doing a 2 or 3 book series on a number of subs from 1939 - 1945.
Idea : Book 1 39 - 42, Book 2 43 - 45 or dividing them by Type 7 & 9, then a another on the others.
Even maybe throwing in a U.S. Navy Gato. Maybe.
The intent is to offer a reference source that has detailed info on variations of builds per type, technical illustrations to make it clear and interesting(done in the same style as the Wingnut Wings instruction diagrams) plus finished models as examples for other modellers. I also want to throw in some fold-out art works of Uboats as well.
*Overall I think this is something that submarine modellers don't have currently but would love to have .......I would love some feedback from you guys on this idea to see if I am on the right track, or maybe you have some ideas that I could include?
Anyway, I have been doing a ton of research on the net, pouring through my own references and have come up with the subjects and a rough idea of what I want to do. So this will be my area where I can update you guys on where I am at and post my ideas and some research, and hopefully get some information and answers from you guys.
I am also interested in anybody supplying some extra info and pics in line with my list below but please, I don't want a general download of pics of anything UBoat here! I already have a lot and probably anything that you are going to find on the net. So don't take this the wrong way, I just don't want to have this space filled with general blog stuff please.
I have in 1/72 - 5 x Mk7c's, 4 x Mk9c's, 1 x Mk 21, 1x Mk 23. In 1/35 I have a Mk7c, Mk 23, a Mk28 Seehund, a Piber......plus waiting for a Gato in 1/72. Plenty of extras as well for all of these in PE, Resin and 3D printed Plastic.
REFERENCE DETAILS
I am after specific details and/or Uboat numbers and pics , which I will list here. Mainly trying to achieve a number of boats spanning as many interesting mods as possible.
I fully realise that most of you probably won't know what that was all about but thats OK, just fishing for the few who might be right into this subject, so that i can move forward with a greater reference established.
For everyone else just sit back and see what develops.
