Looks good James. Just put one foot in front the other and you will get done.

Newest update. Primed and waiting for me to decide what scheme I am going to do.

I made a small tarp of tissue for the muzzle and the breach. Fine wire as rope. To keep the dust of travel out. I will put the tow bar on when the Prime Mover is finished so it is positioned properly.

Comments critiques welcome.

Thanks all. Started the PM tonight. I have PE for it but I think I will put it aside in the interest of actually finishing.

Okay, The best laid plans of..... have now been waylaid. I will not build my early sdkfz 7 and the gun and pm will not be grey. They will be yellow and a late 7. I guess I will try and find markings and do LLAH in France late war. You might be asking why the change in heart, then again you might not ;)

I just found a colour plate and corresponding picture of a 1938 sdkfz 7 early with a K-18 in the prewar 3 tone cam scheme. I will do that for the Have Gun will Travel gb. So sit back and relax and we'll see how well this works out.

Superb !

Airbrush pressure for that fine camo please ,James ?

About 20 psi and from about 2inches. Needle just barely brought back. I also varried the pressure at the trigger to make darker or lighter runs. All free hand.
James

I should note the yellow is testers enamel and the dark green is tamiya. After I get the tires painted with vallejo rubber I will do a light over spray with tamiya buff about 80% alcohol and 20 % paint. This gives a light dustiness and melds the paints I've found.

I missed this earlier James, nice work, is the muzzle going to be covered? Looks like some bag is over it for traveling.

Yess a small tarp on the muzzle and a tarp over the breach. Expediant way to keep the dust and dirt down. While I havent found a pic like it, I've seen tanks with a bag over the muzzle so no one can say it never happened.

lovely paintwork james!

bob - a clean barrel ensures your survival so a cover over the muzzle while on travel was and is common practice!

Very nice paint job, James! That cammo is superb: looks just right on that cannon! Can't wait to see the weathering: beautiful piece of work!

Vallejo rubber is an awesome match. I'm really loving vallejo paints. Next up is picking out the small details, then weathering.
