By way of a break from Aircraft i thought i might give this a go

I have some eduard PE for it as well somewhere.

I remember as kid going to an air display and one of the items was a role demo where one of these scorpions was dropped out of the back of a C130 on a fast taxi via the ramp and it then accelerated up to 50mph and overtook the aircraft... :) There were several of them and they came back down the crowd line, again flat out over the grass with the commanders hanging on for dear life ..
Just something that sticks in your mind (a tank (doing 50mph) as a 13 year old kid :cheer:

anyway i will report back as i get going.

These things equiped just about all the cavalry regiments in the British army, My brother used to drive them and work on them. the first ones had a 4.2 Jaguar engine straight out of the E=Type :) they were always getting pulled up for speeding on the local roads round my way and i remember the noise of these things running on the road :) they used to run on rubber blocks called Biscuits that fitted to the tracks and many a joke was had with messages to the cook house for supplies of Biscuits for the Scorpions.. :cheer:

Yeah I remember that sound aswell... the 'Rock Apes' at Coltishall had four Scimitars called Eric & Ernie and Barker & Corbett - Only other Brits would get the gag - Looking forward to the build, Paddy.

Ian.

Sorry this turned out to be a nothing thread. I put the model together but i realised very quickly there was nothing i could teach you guys about armour in fact i dont really have a clue what i am doing :)
Anyway here it is,

And a size comparison with a WWII Staghound and a British Chieftain MBT..

Paddy you can always share what you are learning. Even ol' pros will pick up new stuff. They look swell. (y)

Nice looking little vehicle. I'm not quite up on British vehicles like I used to be. Is that the British equivalent to the American M2 Bradley, or the American M551 Sheridan? I'm asking because it looks neat and I might try one in 1/72 if financially possible.
