Rescue the VW Schwimmwagen

Well,with some real life issues going on... :sick: and redecorating(walls ,ceiling ,floor etc) the house,I have a problem finding time and available work space for modelling.

Now what do you know,after cleaning up some shelfs,I've found back my Tamiya VW Schwimmwagen in a not so good condition. :S

As you can see,some stuff has been broken.

Just try to glue it back in the right space,right?

The bad thing however is,that the model had to be standing close to some sort of heat source,melting the plastic on three spots.
Really don't know what heat source,and that's bugging me,there could have been a fire you know. :blink

Just a part of my ongoing model got-to-do list to fix it.(deep sigh)

Also found back some Tamiya farm animals;

Greetings,Ron who really wishes to find back bench time.

It does look like an easy putty/sand job. However, you do need to find the source of melting (could be chemical too if it was touching vinyl tracks or tires.

Huh?...first time I hear about that,Saúl.(but I take your word for it)

Was thinking about the chemical reaction thing,maybe some sort of chemical stuff touched it somehow,maybe something with model glue on it.Or maybe a warm battery charger for the camera or telephone...just don't know at this point. :idonno

Greetings,Ron.

Ditto what Saul said. The earlier vinyl wheels and tracks had a nasty habit of reacting with plastic and melting it. I had one kit where the tired where melted into the doors making them useless. Hope you find the cause, and a quick fix and new paint job. If you dont want to fix and paint the gouges then maybe fix the rest and sink this into some polly filla or foam and make a muddy water crossing. Just need a driver then.

Or call it battle damage! Which it is..:good:
