That saw is, 40+ year old. I've had it since my silversmithing days in the 80's. Funny how such a simple tool can be so effective!Nice sawing!
I'm a lefty. I haven't had an issue with the blade lock screws. Unlike other tools that are naturally designed for the right handers ...skill saws, chopsaws etc...I have several Jewelers saws, but I found one a while back (I think at Rio Grande jewelry supply) that works so much better than the others. This one has through holes that are tapped and is designed so that the knobs can be switched from one side to the other. I found that being right handed and having the knobs on the right side keeps them out of the way. Much better than the cheap frames, but it wasn't all that much more expensive and was well worth it.

Yes I have several saws like the one you have shown, just not as deep. The thumb screws on them were always in the way, thus I hated using them.I'm a lefty. It sure is!Isn’t it nice to have friends willing to lend a helping hand! This little build just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks Greg. This kit is going to fight me to the bitter's end, but I can be stubborn as hell too, though! So so good! You have the patience of a saint and steady hand of a surgeon. Super impressive.
