Thanks Greg! The turret is going to be a struggle. I'm also starting to run through the painting process in my mind for this beast.Your skill level continues to impress! I love this build my friend.

If you know someone with a 3D printer willing to do it for you... click the imageOk, here's a spent 1918 37mm shell. Judging by this photo it's about 5" long. In 1/16 scale that's around 3/8 of an inch. Have I gone over the edge to even be thinking about turning some?View attachment 171175

That's a bummer about Shapeways. They supplied almost pretty good quality 3D printed nautical accessories for my model kits for quite sometime. I just sent an inquiry about my most recent, incomplete order. Thanks Sharmouth!
Shapways offered 3D prints of them in 1/16 scale, but they filed for bankruptcy 7-2-24...yes two days ago...haha.
I skimmed through an article on the bankruptcy, (I live under a rock, so I'd never heard of them before yesterday), I gathered they dabled in variety of printing projects, not just modelling. That's a bummer about Shapeways. It would be fun to build a full sized replica. It's looking very Tank-like, in a clunky sort of way. Neet-O!
Yeah. Pretty much everything will be painted apart. I'll assemble it all just before the final weathering. Are you dry fitting sub assemblies? I can't imagine painting this thing fully built.
Thanks errains.Continues to be a most excellent build!!
Yep, put his hips into it. I've seen a video of a restored FT with the turret being rotated. They turned without much effort. How the world did that work? Guess he leaned back into it and rotated?
