Cheyenne

Moderator
Oh well , ..... missed the boat on the " Duel in the Sun " build so I'll just throw all this away and start something else , ..............

The Pz IV E will be in the vicinity of the building , this will be a dock area with unloading tanks , ......... so the location will be UP IN THE AIR as to how it will be positioned , ..... and of course there will be a ship involved .......

Finally painted the sucker , .... needs a lot of weathering etc. , this is just the base coat ............ wait till you see where the missing front drive wheel and housing is going to be ..........

Ok here goes , ......... lotsa beers , horse shoes , food , volleyball , more beers , food , fireworks , [ Sunday morn - primed said tank ] , [ Monday morn ] COFFEE , painted said tank desert yellow , a little of this and that , more shoes , food and beer , .... now I'm taking a break and posting these ............. whew , ...... long weekend .......

Hey, this looks like it will be interesting!!!

I really wanna see where you go with this!

More beers man, that's the key!!

Bob

Tom , Uncle Bob , ......... thanks guys , ........ I guess there's no surprise anymore , so I'll cough up the sceneario , ........ [ I got a red underline , sceneario aint spelt right !!! ]

The Pz IV E will be suspended in mid air off an unloading boom , with the unloading beams askew , [ after taking a wild aerial ride when the ship was bombed ] , with the tank ping ponging against the sinking ship , back and forth , ....... clang , back and forth , ..... clang , ...... the ship will be partially sunk next to the Quay , and the tank juuuust hanging in the beams ......... Sword of Damaclese [ yeah that's spelt wrong too ] , type of thing ........

Wish me luck , there's still a lot to do !!!

I hope that's clear , .......... I'm going back out and toss some more shoes , ..... the neighbors are getting antsy , .... we've still got a lot of beers left in the patio fridge .......

Aww man that is suh weet! I like the idea of it crooked on the boom... My mind's eye is watering at the image!

Yo boss, I gotta toss me some shoes. Sounds like tops fun! And a bevvy or two won't go astray..

All you needed to do was drop the 'e' (about the only thing you didn't do on the weekend :blink )

awesome work glenn! the only thing i'd change is the turret position! with a slope like that the stowage in the bin would have fallen out!

WOW, Really like the weathering going on here, the black stuff on the upper hull between the hatches is sweet (y)

Keep up the great work Glen :)

Randy

Oh Yeah Glenn, Not only is the build great, I dig that rebel license plate in the background! Hoo Yah!

Lookin really good man!

Bob

Oh Wow this is going to be great :)

May a suggest a change in the angle of the hanging padlocks to match the angle of the turret ?

carry on building this cos Im gonna be watching

Andy:)

Great mate just great...

Laura is spot-on here! I think this will add to the drama immensely, as you can have the load shifted to the low side and some of the stowage teetering on the edge and some having landed below?

Another good suggestion!
Brad :side:

Wow , I actually answered you guys at 11pm last night when I got home from work , .......... and forgot to press submit .........

Thanks Laura , Brad , Andy , I just threw the turret up there like that for the photo op , ...... the turret will be hung up in the ships boom rigging so it won't be an issue .
Thanks for the suggestions and they will be implemented in one form or another .
I gotta get this thing in the boom so you see what I mean .
Wait till you see where I'm going to put the front wheel and housing , ......... it'll be a laugh .
Andy , thanks for reminding me , I have to add a little silvering , for the everyday wear in a arc pattern from the bouncing around padlocks .

Randy , thanks man , the black stuff is meant to be bearing grease from the turret ring , this will be accompanied by some Jerry can spillage from the back rack . I figured North Africa , 110 degrees , slicker n goose sh#t , major gooey mess . I just gotta figure out how to make some bearings to throw on the ground .

Pup , thanks man !!!

Uncle Bob , thanks man , no self respecting guy who lived down south [ Loozeeanna ] for a couple a years wouldn't have a Rebel flag stuck to his pik-em-up truck somewhere , ......... besides , what are ya gonna do , .......... argue with Josey Wales ???

Glenn -

As always it's a sheer pleasure to see the incredible amount of details and creative, imaginative masterful works. You just blow me away. Knowing the other superb works you've done (and should I imagine still a couple as WIP?), I'll preview to all to look closely at the boom, winch (or was that wench), crane details I know are forthcoming. I've got a special folder made just to 'capture' these wonderous works. Now for my baseball coaching season to finish ( 2 weeks to go) so I can get back into the modeling swing of things again. I've been truly inspired!

Re: Pz IV E dio ........10/17/10

It's been awhile but I finally decided what to do with this N. Africa dio .

I was going to scratch a whole new tramp steamer , .......... but since I already had one laying around from eons ago , ...... I'll modify that .

This will have extensive rework done on it .
The idea being , a small tramp steamer cruising east along the N. African coast delivering a few tanks and supplies to Rommels strectched out forces .
As so many times happened , ......... just didn't make it intact ........... bombed in port wile unloading and listig badly .
