OK Guys, I anted up :popcorn

Hell I was there and I'm not even sure what all y'all brought.

I want to personally thank you gentlemen for attending our show. Your support is GREATLY appreciated! Actually, a couple of points you brought up were quite correct and I am hoping to remedy those at the next event. Lighting has always been problematic at that venue and we are looking at a larger better lit place for next year. We discussed announcing the award winners but due to time constraints placed on us by the venue we would not have had time to announce all of our winners. I was not able to be more involved in the judging process and my guys are still gaining experience and learning the judging process so I did expect some issues to arise during the judging phase for the armor categories. The aircraft and automotive went well but the armor side of it went a little sideways. I was planning on giving some of the armor judging duties to our AMPS friends from Columbia but I did not see anyone from the group there. I always welcome outside judges from other groups and clubs to help us judge so please feel free to volunteer and I can feel better about delegating judging duties. Judges are extremely hard to find for these shows. Experienced, seasoned judges are even harder to find. I am contracting with a vendor to create our awards for next year but unfortunately that has been problematic as well. Everyone tells me they do not want any more wooden plaques taking up wall space and at the same time they do not want awards that will take up shelf space, etc. So what do you do? I have had mostly positive comments about our certificate type awards as the winner can either put them in a book, frame the way they want to frame them, basically display at their discretion. Trust me, those printed awards are not cheap. Between the ink, the imported paper and the time involved in design, layout and creation the costs add up. Again, I am open for suggestions, comments and recommendations. I had planned to do an AMPS type of award for this year but was shot down very quickly as most of the people I talked to about this find those awards quite cheesy. Again, what do you do? Please send your comments and suggestions my way. I can only make this show better by getting feedback from the attendees and what impressions they came away with. I want to congratulate everyone for placing and again I want to thank you for participating. Please send those suggestions my way so I can make our event better for everyone involved. We are hoping to make next years show bigger and better. Most of the vendors that attended this year's show have already committed to next year.

Now....go build something!

Thanks for the reply James. But you didn't address the Grill thing!

You may have missed it but the updates from our European buddies always has shots of lounging around the grill in the beer garden at these shows. That's definitely something we should pick up from them! :drinks

Thing about the awards, folks like me who doesn't have any wood plaques to stumble over are left feeling kinda left out. I know, damn if you do, damn if you don't.

Trust me, I understand. What I am working on for next year I think will definitely intrigue everyone! Now, about the grill thing. If we go with with our new venue for next year I think we might just be able to set up a grill.....I just don't know about the beer. I, for one, am good with both. The only stipulation is you have to come up and be in charge of the grillin'! (y)

Thanks again for coming!!

Now....go build something!

No Beer, no Grill...package deal, one goes with the others. I know liability insurance would be the big problem in that case.

We'll see about next year.

BTW, great pictures Chris, I didn't realize you brought the B25, how the hell did I miss it? :facepalm

Strange as this may seem , the custom is that the host does the cooking as a courtesy to the guest ( us, the paying customers )

Cheers, Christian B)

Well Bob it was parked between a Catalina , a Gooney and that big seaplane .

It's just not a large aircraft.

hey Christian, A BIGTHANK YOU for posting your winners (y) (y) (y)

Your plane builds are so good you can compete in an open division and can obviously dominate a scale class.

Congratulations !!!!

Thanks James and Randy . :D

Thank you very much guys . Shame I don't enjoy contest modeling anymore . :pinch:

By the way you guys are always welcome :D

Outstanding work Chris , especially love the IJN Shiden !!! Congrats on the awards !!! (y)

Thanks Joey :D I really like the Shiden best myself . Got way more work on it than the Zero .

I'm guessing the Zero was more on the cutsie side and way cleaner .

Not shown is the Hurricane which was not even considered . I believe the wheels were crooked :bang head imagine that ?
I have more work in it than anything else . :(

Oh well ! Cheers, Christian B)

Bad lighting or not great pics!
