Okay, now I see it, I have a problem...

I don't know why I can't just build something OOB. And I really don't know why I insist of lighting everything, but I admit, I've gone too far.

Instead of just picking up the beautiful 1/350 Polar lights Enterprise and the lighting kit, I, bozo, decide to go with the 1/1000 kit.

Here's a test of the nacelle lights, I have installed flasher chips yet, I'm just working out the motor and colors. This is with 4 LEDs, the plan is to have 8 per side (not counting all the windows and the saucers).

For my 1/35 scale MH-60M blackhawk build, I've already spent over $200 in aftermarket details. And that's not even counting the $85 dollars coming up to order the MH-60M detail set from Cobra Company!
No wonder the wife keeps telling me to stop spending money,
But I want to build a Very realisic helo. For this build I am a rivet counter!!!

Am lucky in some respects as I have no "War Dept" to criticize my spending habits. Though I am slowly getting that changed a little bit. What I should really do is have a garage sale like Saul did recently and lighten my load a bit.

As to AMS, yeah I have that problem too. Probably won't do any lighting on all the 1/1000 Trek kits I have, though the two 1/350 scale kits are goiong to get full tilt light arrays.

Ausf, the lighting so far looks quite good on that small engine!

I don't know what it is, but I just like to build realistic models, especially helicopters. Now if only what I see in my mind can be done on the modeling bench.
I definitely have a case of modeling withdrawals!

Looks very Good Ausf ... I have the same trouble ... Minature L.E.D's and I've have some of those small R/C Helicopters that have hit the Wall of Doom ... but the motors & batteries are still OK ... :hmmm ... Hang in there Dude ... It's always better after some Sleep ...

When I was way too young to know better, I bought the original model of the Enterprise, which came equipped with lighting. It was the late 60s and I couldn't have been more that 10 years old. I didn't have a clue about how to make it work, so, it never did. That's when I knew I'd never become an engineer. I still have it, though, in the original box and everything.
It's amazing to think that there were more than a few kits back then that could be lit or motorized. Forty years later, I got a hold of an original motorized version of an M36 Jackson. I threw caution to the wind, assembled it and it actually works. I was so proud of myself. My ex-wife's cat got a real surprise.
Ten years and another ex-wife later, I built a 1/25 Jagdpanther with a battery-operated remote control and it works, too. That wife's cat didn't appreciate it, either. Perhaps, those endeavors led to the irreconcilable differences.
