If you are ever in the central area of NC take some time to ride over to Spencer NC and check out the North Carolina Transportation Museum.

Chris and I road up during the show in Salisbury and had a great time, for a transportation museum we sure did do some walkin' but I needed it.

Car Show was going on at the time and this one stumped us both, an Erskine.

Excellent place to visit . Being lucky enough to catch the car meet was priceless.

Wish I had grabbed my camera on the way out but on the plus side I would have been sorting pictures for days .

A lot of cars , railroad stock and other things we just did not get a chance to visit

Gonna need another trip there .

Yeah, someone showing up :30 early didn't help the game plan did it, I could have used that extra :30 sleep. I didn't get back to the house till just before 10pm.

They had a couple of really nice and BIG lathes in the machine shop. :drool

I'm a sucker for locomotives. You can't help be impressed by the sheer size of them in the flesh.

I know, you don't appreciate how big they really are when you see them running on HO tracks. They have a DC-3 under restoration there somewhere but we couldn't find it.

Double that for me since N was always my preferred gauge. B)

The only thing we run now is the Lionel Hogwarts Express around the Christmas tree, which is a pretty nice set.

That looks like a Ford Model A, back in the 70's my well-to-do Unk had several. I actually first 'drove' a vehicle that was Model A pickup. If you looked at the steering wheel, there should have been a spark advance lever you had to set. Neat!

When I used to mess around with them, it seemed like N had more detail than HO. It doesn't make sense and it may have been my impression or just what was around then. Most N was Atlas, but a few different HO companies were available and quality was up and down. HO you could get at Toys R Us, but N you had to go to a legit train store. Whoa, am I a scale snob? :idonno

My main attraction was the ability to squeeze a lot of track into a small space. That and lichen looked more tree-like in the smaller scale.

I also started with N, but graduated to HO in 2006, when I started Model railroading again. my eyes & hands just seemed too big, I'm now into On30, same gauge track as HO, just all items are O scale, 1/4" equals a foot is easier to model in than 3.5mm equals a foot. Besides when you go to the train shows everyone likes O scale the best. Now as for the Car made by Studebaker 1927-1932. thanks for sharing MP Very nice I'll be 1 hour Early, one day and we'll find that DC-3
