Next on Bench

In full scale the dipole antennas were 0.50 inches/12.7 mm in diameter. In 1/24 scale that converts to 0.020 inches/0.50 mm.

If you can't find brass wire that thin, guitar strings will work.

I know you see Lego here. A buddy who owns hobby store is an ace with 3D printer. Due to size of model, guy I'm building it for likes this idea.

So doing a lot of engine work for not being able to see them. Want to make as accurate as possible.
We all do it, the SE5 has a really nice looking motor but it's going to be closed up except for the valve covers. I know, why bother? Because we know it's in there.

Legos are models too. I used it as a stepping stone for my son to try plastic model building.

I will be adjusting the antenna's on the inboard part of the wing. They were at about a 45 degree angle pointing aft. Wanted to get them in first. I made them all one long rod, so will be easy to adjust them when time comes. Will get back at it this week coming up.

Lego is not a model. Lego is a logical gateway to model making, but models cannot be disassembled and put back together again after they are finished. Lego is a TOY. I like me a Lego kit, but DO NOT call them models. That's just silly!
Well Chris, using that logic, since my son glued his Lego builds they are then models! He got tired of them coming apart from playing and wanted them as displays. I had to scrounge for leftover bits in order to create my mold boxes and even bought this Lego knockoff base from Lidl!

Also, snap together models are designed to come apart too since they're not glued. (@Rhino click to see his build when he was 8 - Unlike Papa, he actually has a completed model SBS here!)

As with the Legos, he insisted on gluing the snap together kits as well! Pegasus EZ-Snapz 48th scale Hawker Hurricane.
