thanks james!

almost done with the weathering, only thing left to do is to simulate chipping on the earth spikes, then it's time to mount everything on the dio and paint the crates and boxes for the crew!

I did not realize you're doing two 88s. that's Ubercool! Mudding and weathering looks great Laura. You should be proud.

i haven't done two, the halftrack and the flak18 on trailer are from summer 2008 and they entered this thread when i came to painting!

and please allow me to correct you: mudding and weathering WERE looking good until i applied the fourth layer of pigments what completely messed everything up! airbrush misting with sand yellow came to my rescue!

I think you nailed it too. So long as the groundwork has some of the same qualities as the weathering it should work a treat. Looking forward to watching your progress.

Uber-cool, Uber-chick! They look as dirty as my poor little car does most of the time. Beautiful paint work- cheers!

Laura, Your models are looking really great. I have the DML kit with the Aber Shield sitting in the stash and now I want to clear the desk and start on that project. No wonder I never finish anything. When it comes to weathering isn't it the saying "When you think you've done enough. Stop! Because it's that next little bit extra that wrecks it." Do you think the actual gun and limber kit need a P.E. upgrade? As I only went for the P.E. shield to replace the DML one, The Aber P.E. set looks daunting to me. Once again great work. Look forward to more posts. Dean

thanks dudes! thank you very much!

aber? you sure? i searched on the aber page but didn't find anything for the 88mm flak! i know of the voyager, lionroar and part pe sets but didn't know that aber made any pe for the 88!

in general i'd say that the shield is the most important to be replaced, a full treatment is up to your choice and preference! i've already gone too far and couldn't build an 88 without full pe treatment anymore since both of them got the royal treatment!

well ok ... as promised i took the time and tried to make better pictures with the camera on a tripod and with flash (although i normally refuse to use the flash!)

and OF COURSE i managed to break away two pe parts on the halftrack! mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! :pinch:

I think the misting of dust nailed it. It looks like fresh mud in the process of drying. Well done Laura!

That is sooooo DIRTY!
But I like it dirty...
:silly:

Looking good Laura.

Aber does make sets for the 88.
35183 Basic set (which I never saw released)
35184 for the shield:
